Fwd?

Postby racefan2 » Sat Feb 23, 2013 11:51 am

Is there anything special u have to do to the engine to help from blowing up. I got a fwd going to put a cage in & race it. I don't know much about fwd. You know like a v8 oil pan baffles & things like that. Any help on any aspect of it would be appreciated. Thanks. :D

RF2,AS WITH ANY COMBUSTABLE ENGINE,THE ENGINE IS AN AIR PUMP,IN ESSENTIAL'S SOME MANUFACTURER'S DID THEIR HOMEWORK BETTER THAN OTHER'S,TO SAVE A LOT OF HEADACHE'S DOWN THE LINE,I WOULD DO RESEARCH ONLINE,SEARCH THE WORLD WIDE WEB,TO FIND THE SERVICE HISTORY OF THIS ENGINE SLASH CAR MODEL TO BEGIN WITH,A LOT OF THESE LATER MODEL 4 CYL ENGINES AS WELL AS ANY THAT ARE MACHINED WITH THE METRIC VERSION,USE HEAD BOLT'S THAT ARE DESIGNED TO STRETCH WHEN ASSEMBLED AT THE MANUFACTURER,AND GENERALLY SOME WON'T TAKE THE ABUSE THAT OTHER'S WILL!!!NOW SECONDLY THIS CAR IS A COMPUTER CONTROLLED VEHICLE WITH ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION,BASED ON THE INFO GIVEN,REMEMBER THESE VEHICLES ARE NOT DESIGNED AND PROGRAMMED TO RUN AT THE RPM'S NOR THE TEMP'S THAT THE CAR WILL ENDURE ON A CIRCLE TRACK,BUT THERE IS A CURE FOR THIS!! LUCKY YOU:)TO GET THIS MOTOR TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE AIR AND FUEL THAT YOU WILL WANT TO POUR DOWN IT'S THROAT!!TO GET THE FULL ADVANTAGE OUT OF THIS ENGINE COMBINATION,FIRST FIND SOMEONE WHO HAS THE DIAGNOSTIC SOFTWARE FOR YOURE APPLICATION,AND GO INTO THE ECM AND RESET ALL THE FUEL MANAGEMENT ALONG WITH THE TIMING CURVE,IN THIS ON SOME APPLICATION'S YOU CAN EVEN SET THE TEMP AT WHICH THE RADIATOR FAN WILL KICK ON AND OFF!.SOME APPLICATION'S WILL REQUIRE AN AFTERMARKET O2 SENSOR AND SOME APPLICATION'S ARE ADJUSTABLE THROUGH THE "ECM".WITH ALL THIS DONE,THIS LIL DUDE WILL TURN THE F--- ON,,,,LOL..GOOD LUCK,HOPE THIS HELP'S.....'BOB" AKA....LEDHEAD!!!!!!

depending on what race track you race at or how the rules are you might want to check them out before you do to much because some tracks might check out to see if you did anything to your computer some want it strickly stock and they will check it out to see what you might have done.depends where you are going to race at.check the rule book first.just my thought.
