Need help. SSBB

Postby BontragerMotorsports » Sat Apr 06, 2013 8:05 pm

Here's the car:

Woodin offset Chassis.
QC 3-link, solid top link
17.5" lower control arms
250lb springs up front. and a big bar.
Car weighs 2750 without me in it.

Here's the problem.

I cant get my 13" tall 250lb springs to hold the car off the ground. I mean I'm talkin 2 1/2- 2 3/4" Frame heights.
Ive tried a lot. 300/350lb springs acted the same way.
Around 3am last night I gave up.
The car is now sitting at a 4" frame height like i need but I had to preload the springs so much that it acts like these 1300lb springs up front.
I'm stumped. Ive ruled out bad shocks and bad springs because ive swapped em out about 8 times.

Just built this car and am putting the set-up from my last one in it... Really stumped why this wont work.

Watchya got!

Take it is a big spring car? Stock style lowers or strut type with c.o. Eliminators or fabbed style with spring out by balljoint? If the spring is in closer then your old chassis the leverage on that spring will be greater and not hold the car up.
