( Fremont IN ) The Everage Motor Sports team has finished the 2010 Everage Motor Sports Tour for yet another great season. This year the racing action brought some of the biggest crowds in track history. Led by the Super Late Model races, AMS saw some of the biggest car counts posted by any asphalt track in 2010.
The house was packed for the 3rd Annual Stan Perry Memorial Race featuring a record payout of $10,110.00 to the winner. Teenage driving sensation Derrick Griffin stole the show and the checkered flag from veteran driver Jeff Parr in a final lap showdown.
Superior Auto Modifieds had the crowds on their feet with some classic finishes. Who can ever forget the final Modified race of the season that saw Justin Kazmar and Steve Minich Jr spinning across the finish line in 2ND and 3RD place, edged out by Tice Shaffer who took the checkered flag with his first visit to AMS.
The ever popular FWD and Mini Stocks fielded many newcomers with additional record car counts by the end of the season.
" This season was the best in track history with record crowds, car counts and historic finishes," stated Craig Everage, AMS track promoter. " We couldn't have had such a successful season without our loyal fans, track marketing partners and dedicated employees. "
We would like to thank our following 2010 marketing partners-
Pro Fab, Everage Auto, WLKI, Rapid Raceway, Johnny on the Spot, Superior Auto, Graphics Unlimited, Lane Automotive, All Star Performance, Ramada Inn, Chris Johnson Racing Engines, The Hawk 1140 AM, Bills Professional Towing and Recovery, NAPA, EMF Corporation, Everage Tree Service, Croxton and Roe Insurance, Tri State Line X, Power Screen, Turkey Creek Outfitters, Clark's Landing and Marina, and Pizza Hut of Angola. Please be sure you stop in and personally thank these fine sponsors and let them know you appreciate their support of Steuben County and the Tri-State area's premiere racing facility.
Everage Motor Sports would also like to recognize all of their 2010 season employees. From the veteran pit stewards and tech officials to the concession workers who saw 1700 hot dogs go out the door in one night, to the EMTs and Track Safety Crews, their hard work and dedication provided the cleanest, safest, family friendly motor sports experience in the Tri-State area.
Now that the 2010 season has come to a close there are many rumors floating about the future of AMS. No, Tonya Harding did not take a lead pipe to track promoter Craig Everage's knee to keep him out of US Figure Skating. He did that when the front tire/brake seized up on his motorcycle. What we can tell you is that Everage Motor Sports has been assured that AMS will again rise to the top of any asphalt short track in the area for the 2011 season, so GET READY for 2011!!!!
