Ladies Night Was Feelin' Right for the Mike Becker Memorial!

It was a perfect Summer evening at the Berlin Raceway and Entertainment Complex! It was another ladies night, and all ladies were admitted free. In addition, it was also the Mike Becker Memorial featuring some very special tributes. Long time car owner and Marketing Director of the Napa Filters Racing Vintage Modifieds, Chuck Pierson had been wheelchair bound since the age of 16. Many people came together and made a special Vintage Rusty Wallace themed race car, specially equipped for Chuck to be able to drive. It was used as the official pace car for the Mike Becker Memorial Race!

The Vintage Modifieds were honoring long time racer and series pioneer Mike Becker on Saturday Night. A full field of cars took the green flag and after a few early yellows, the racing very tight. On a restart, several cars got together and 3 cars crashed hard in Turn 1. All drivers were okay, but the race had to be red flagged for more than 15 minutes. After things restarted, former track champion Don Deyman was able to hold off the field and take the checkered flag.

The Kalamazoo Vapor 4-Cyl Division had another full field of over 20 cars and once again did not fall short in providing great racing, and after the 15 laps wrapped up, the points leader Bill Krupp returned to victory lane, after struggling with the car in the past several weeks!

The Model Coverall Modifieds returned after racing just a few days previous. Billy Shotko was looking to return to victory lane after winning the last couple of features, but tonight it was Ryan Hamm that was able to return to Victory Lane!

The Boyne Machine Super Late Models were the final feature of the night for 60 laps! 20 + cars took the Green Flag for the feature with a very tight points battle between Andrew Nylaan and Tom Thomas. Many passes and changes in the lead, but by lap 40 Tom Thomas was able to get to the front and lead to the checkered flag to make the points battle even closer, and Nylaan was able to finish in the top 5!
