Hot Racing on Cool Carload Night at Berlin Raceway!

Marne, MI -- Sunshine abounded all day for the 4th week of the season at The New Berlin Raceway and Entertainment Complex. The Parking Lot Party and Tailgate Competition got things going at 2PM, and the racing was hot right from drop of the first green flag!

The Boyne Machine Super Late Models returned for the 2nd time with a strong field of 24 cars, including Ross Kenseth, son of Sprint Cup Driver Matt Kenseth. This would be the first race of the year at Berlin for Ross. A 23 cars strong field of went almost 50 laps caution free, setting up a 10 lap dash to the finish. Grand Rapids' Barry Hartwell led most of the race, only to be passed by a hard charging and fast time Brian Campbell, sporting the familiar #47 his father raced with for many years at Berlin. It would be Campbell's first win of the season in the Boyne Machine Super Late Models.

The Enterprise Iron and Metal Sportsman saw first time winner in Tyler Sterken win in a heat race, and veteran Randy Veldman picked up his second feature win of the year.

The Kalamazoo Vapor 4-cyl Division was once again very competitive and Bill Krupp was able to make his way to the front after a late race caution, passing the entire field in less then 6 laps. Krupp has dominated this year in the 4-cyls, winner every feature to date.

The Engine Pro Super Stocks featured a great race and a very strong field. The race stayed close throughout all 30 laps, only to have last lap incident between Caleb Bisacky and Brian Vanzalen causing smoke to fly, with Bisacky spinning and Vanzalen taking the win with cheers and jeers from the onlooking spectators
