Rick Senneker held off a hard charging AJ Foote to pick up the “Cool 101
Shootout” victory in the Outlaw Super Late Model division Saturday night
at Kalamazoo Speedway. Point leader Mike “Bubba” Brooks finished third
ahead of Luke Krick and Matt Krywosinski. “Gentleman” John Chapman led
the second half of the top ten ahead of Andrew Devreese, Marc Casey,
Chuck Greer and fast qualifier Mark Shook. Notable finishers included
Todd Harringon in 12th and Matt Frazier in 14th. Tom Rutherford and
Senneker won the heats. Brooks continues to lead the points but several
drivers are within striking distance in case he falters, including
Chapman (-51), Foote (-82), Krick (-108), Harrington (-113), Senneker
(-121), Frazier (-144) and Shook (-149).

The Super Stock feature saw Scott Rugg emerge victorious over fast
qualifier Buddy Head and his brother Kenny Head. Kelli Jo Hofacker and
Larry Hollenbeck rounded out the top five. The second half of the top
ten was led by Jerry Pierman over Rob Hardy, Jake Hopwood, Chris Shannon
and TK Whitman. Hardy and Shannon won the heat races. Buddy Head now
leads brother Kenny by just forty three points in the battle for the
Super Stock championship but several other drivers are in the mix as
well including Hofacker (-82), Rugg (-83), Shannon (-98), Pierman (-154)
and Jordan Hunderman (-157).

The Pro Stock division continued their streak of putting on great races
with Toby Montgomery setting fast time, starting last and driving his
way through the field to pick up the victory. Veteran Brent Hook
finished second ahead of defending champion John Foote Jr., Lloyd Brooks
and Bran VanAvery. Rookie Barry Jenkins finished sixth beating out Zach
Westdorp, Greg Brown, Danny Oxford and Keith Wilfong. Foot Jr. and
VanAvery collected the heat race victories. Montgomery now holds a slim
twenty point lead in the standings over Brent Hook while Brooks (-23),
Foote Jr. (-28), Jenkins (-125) and Brown (-158) are also in the mix.

The Mini Stock division ran “Mini Stock Madness Presented by Titan
Equipment”. When the smoke cleared former Cyber Stock track champion
Keith Dunham was standing in victory lane after defeating point leader
Jerime Damron. Noah Gallandt ended up third ahead of Chuck Greer and
former champion Frank Stager. The second half of the top ten was led by
young Chaz Hook over Billy Bussema, Ryan Echtinaw, Sierra Lantz and
Shane Clark. Logan Night was the evening’s fastest qualifier while
Bussema and Lantz won the heats. The Mini Stock point battle is
incredibly close with ten drivers separated by just 152 points. Damron
currently holds the lead by thirty four points over Dunham while
Gallandt (-40), Stager (-45) and Bussema (-73) round out the top five.
The second half of the top ten is led by Clark (-81) over Greer (-88),
Chaz Hook (-139), Knight (-146) and Lantz (-152).

The Cyber Stocks also had a special event with the running of the
“Cybernetic 20 Presented by 7UP”. Bob Miller held off a hard charging
Jerry Jansen Jr. down the stretch to pick up the victory. Rookie Dan
Rigoni finished an impressive third ahead of Josh Roberts and Drew
Maxwell. The second half of the top ten saw Curtis Towne finished sixth
ahead of Doug Nelson, Ryan Hufford, Jerry Jansen III and Kyle Jansen.
Notable finishers included Keegan Dykstra in 11th, TC Burgess in 13th
and Cliff Lambert in 14th. Lambert set quick time while the heat wins
went to Jansen III and Keegan Dykstra. Jansen Jr. now holds a
fifty-nine point lead over Dykstra while an incredible twelve drivers
sit within just 159 points of the lead. Hufford (-103) is currently
third ahead of Burgess (-107), Lambert (-108), Miller (-111), Kyle
Jansen (-116), Roberts (-119), Jerry Jansen III (-135), Nelson (-142),
Rigoni (-157) and Maxwell (-159).

This Saturday night, May 17 red hot racing action return to Kalamazoo
Speedway with another full five in one show featuring the “Scott’s Cards
50” for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Outlaw Super Late Models.
The Super Stock division will also be on hand, as will the Pro Stock
division who will be running the “Pro Stock Rumble Presented by Cool
101”. It will also be the first Kidz Nite of the season at the
Ron Verash
